Colony 337 Tour — Main Screen

This is a scaled down screen shot of the main page.
This is where all the action is.
Labeled items are described below the image.
  1. Robot name. You name your robot when you begin the game, and it is displayed here.
  2. Team name. All robots belong to a team. You can change teams if you want.
  3. Team flag. Clicking on the team flag will show you a list of all active robots on the team.
  4. AP. Action points. Most things you do in the game take Action Points. This shows how many "AP" you have left. New turns are added every fifteen minutes. If you run out of AP, you have to wait for new turns to be added before you can do anything else. Every robot gets roughly the same amount of AP per day.
  5. VP. The other number next to AP is your View Points, or VP. You only have a certain amount of View Points each day. If you run out of View Points, you can't do anything else until the next day.
  6. XP. Experience Points. Some things you do in the game can earn experience points. You use XP to buy skills. Skills make your robot more powerful.
  7. HP. Health Points. If you run out of HP, your robot is destroyed, which is bad. Then you have to wait for your automated low-level rebuild system to patch you back together. Try to avoid this.
  8. Level. Buying skills with xp increases you Level. The higher level the robot, the more powerful it is.
  9. Map View. This is a birds eye view of your location in the Colony. You are always on the center square. You can click on the other squares to move to that location.
  10. Location Square. Locations Squares have some useful information, like the location cooridinates, how many other robots are at the same location, whether there is a force field there, and the flag of the team that owns force field.
  11. Location Block. More useful information. This is a decription of your current location. You can see the coordinates, whether there is a force field, who owns the force field and how strong the force field is. You can also see a list of all the other robots in the same location. There may be other useful information.
  12. Event Block. Even more useful information. This is where you find out what has happened in the game since your last move. You can see radio transmissions, whether you've been attacked, if your team has deployed any force fields, and all sorts of other game activity. The little arrows at the top of the Event Block let you view past events.
  13. Action Block. This is where you do stuff. Search, speak, attack, repair, etc. Which actions are available depend various things like what you have in your inventory or if there is a force field at the current location, and so on. All actions use up one or more action points. Some actions, mainly attacking and damaging other robots, give you experience points.
